I attended Frank Meos' 5 day Photographers Business Workshop and am glad I did. The information and trade secrets that Frank shared with us in regards to working with ad agencies, estimating jobs, and self promotion, to name a few of the topics we explored, is priceless. Only a person with Franks working experience in the industry would be able to be such a great teacher and resource on this topic. Franks friendly personality also contributed to this course being the success that it was. Thank you Frank!

It was such a pleasure to meet Frank Meo, who is so genuine in his desire to give back to the photo industry. His presentation was thorough yet easy to follow. I think its rare to find such a clear, straightforward step-by-step breakdown of the business. I hope to bring him to speak to more groups of emerging photographers in the future.

The Photocloser workshop is a part of photography that every Art school missed. This workshop thought me how to think of myself from an Art Director perspective. I learned how to approached creatives with a higher chance of getting a response back. I also learned how to price projects and bid for them, and most importantly I learned that numbers aren't everything. This is something I wish I knew when I started in this industry. Thank You Frank!

I’m largely a self-taught photographer. But sometimes you need knowledge that’s hard to find, or specific to someone else’s experience. Frank’s years of experience showed clearly in his workshop, and his engaging, down to earth, practical, and most importantly, friendly delivery made this a very worthwhile investment in time and money. I believe this workshop has made me a more viable commercial photographer. His ability to relate to the working photojournalist trying to make it in the commercial arena is the icing on the cake.

Frank Meo is a close friend to many photographers. As a photography agency representative for many years, he worked tirelessly to help photographers work in the field and be fairly paid. He is a consummate negotiator who understands the difficulties of trying to earn a living after art school. His ability to see and explain both sides (client and photographer) is vital to a modern photographer's understanding of fair usage for pictures one creates.
In recent years, he has lectured students at ICP on best practices in photography.
His presentations have proven to be informative, practical and cutting edge for photographers who need advice on how to budget or estimate an assignment - examining case studies of projects he collaborated on with photographers and clients.
Frank, with his signature unbridled passion, conveys clear paths that resonate in a way that allows the audience to understand the art of negotiation and previsualization - removing the fear of naming a price for art and life.

When I found that one of the renowned photographers I admire was recommending Frank’s workshop, I thought this workshop must be for me and I must take it. I had enough ambition to embark on photography career but didn’t even know much about the business practice, and have been seeking for a guidance to market myself.
Frank has ample experience in the industry, went through kinds of business competitions, and won the variety of clients with his out-of-box thinking. It was an amazing thing that he shared his stories and learning with us in his small sized two-day workshop.
What he taught us was very informative and practical. It gave me actionable inspiration right away, and also gave me valuable mind-set and tactics to be competitive in the photographer’s market.
At the beginning of the workshop, I felt that I might have been too ambitious to be there sitting with other established photographers. But as we went through the courses, I figured out that this workshop was relevant for any photographers who look for a success in commissioned business.
His thorough advice and personal encouragement for each participant were also valuable, and having the opportunity to meet and listen to the other passionate photographers was also wonderful aspect of his workshop. I’m glad I took it.

Frank’s business workshop was worth every penny spent - the thorough nature of the presentations and Q&A sessions provided me with the answers to questions I’ve been asking for years. From how to best negotiate the challenging waters of prospective client phone calls and proposal submissions, to how to set yourself out from the other photographers, he taught us how to process and predict the needs that might arise for clients in invaluable ways. We learned about all aspects of the business; estimating and pricing, how and when to think about representation, where to find the creatives you would like to work with, and everything in-between. Frank’s experience and insight, blended with his charisma and sense of humor make the workshop both engaging and entertaining (as those who take the class will see with the doughnut social media analogy), and every question asked was given thorough consideration, deliberation, and conversation - I learned more in this two day workshop about the finer points of the industry than I did on my own or from other educational sources in the last 6 months. We worked our way through determining a photographic style, designing intelligent promotional materials and the importance of the personal connection.
